Denise (Hairdresser)

To My Dear Adopted Grandma Jan,

I have had the most blessed last three years growing close to you and making your hair beautiful as you are. We have had many laughs together as I would wash your hair and drench your clothing at the same time and you were such a gem thru it all - you still loved me too.

You were and always will be close to my heart and I will miss you dearly. I will make sure I keep your guy looking great.

I will keep you forever in my memories,

Love, Denise

What I remember most of Janet is her "lady like" appearance and her caring ways. Whenever she and Bob came into the office or called on the phone, she had a "smile" in her voice and on her face. She never wanted to interrupt but always cared about you and your needs.
Shiela Dovey (Family friend)

Oh Janet,

It was so great to grow with you over the years.  Dannielle loved lyou sooo much, she said you were her second grandma.

All the wonderful times at the cottage will live with Dannielle and I forever.

God Bless,

Love you always,

Sheila

To The Dearst Mrs. Bettis,

You've always been the bestis! Two great kids - Bill & Ann and good old Bob, the husband.

When we look above to the cool Rainbow, you'll be missed like you will never know!

Love,  Wild Bill

Richard Haskin (Family friend)

Dear Jan,

I will always remember being drawn to  your quietness, your calmness, and your kindness. Thanks for making the world a better place!

Lloyd & Debi Nelson

My Dear Jan,

May the angels bless you! I know that there will be no more pain and only happiness. Don't worry - Andrea will take care of everyone for you! And, whenever we see a Rainbow at the cottage, we will think of you! Also, when you see our Lois & Jay Jay, give them a hug for us!

Maria Campanale (Andres's friend)

Dear Janet,

Didn't know you too well, but I know Andrea very much. I love Andrea, so I know I would have loved you. You're in good company in heaven with God. My mom, my dad and all others who have passed before you. God bless you forever.

P.S. I'll keep and eye on Andrea, Bill & Bob.

Eleanor Mooty (Sister)

Janet is my only sister. We did a lot of fun things together , especially shopping! I lived in Houston, TX and on one visit we were in an antique shop when the sales lady made change for my purchase she told us she heard on her radio that President Kennedy had been shot in Dallas. That is quite a memory to be with your sister on the Kennedy was shot!

I really miss the fun times. Rest in Peace...Love Ellie

Hugs It's wonderous what a Hug can do, A Hug can say I Love You, Oh gee I hate to see you go. A Hug is welcome back, Great to see you, Where have you been? A Hug can soothe s small child's pain. Like a rainbow after rain. A Hug there's no doubt about it. We scarcely could survive with out it. Heads of States are not above them, A Hug delights and warms and charms. It must be why God gave us arms. Hugs are great for Mothers and Fathers, Sweet for Sisters and swell for Brothers. Kittens crave them and puppies love them, A Hug can beat the silence when we are angry at others. Hugs are for sharing. So stretch your arms without delay Give someone a Hug today By Mother to Bill Christmas 1997

The love between a mother & daughter is so special. The loss of your mother - words can never describe. It is so very very personal.

I would like to read a few quotes about mothers that touched my heart and perhaps yours as well.

"A mother is the trueist friend we have, when trials are heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us; still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her "kind" precepts and counsels to dissapte the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to our hearts."

"Who ran to help me when I fell, and would some pretty story tell, or kiss the place to make it well?" "My mother."

"A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pitty, it dares all things, crushes down remorselessly all that stands in it's path."

"Life is the fruit she longs to hand you, ripe on a plate and while you live relentlessly she understands you."

"Most of all, the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds, plenty of Roses, Stars, Sunsets, Rainbows, Brothers and Sisters, Aunts and Cousins, Comrades and Friends but only "One Mother" in the whole world."

Today, I awoke listening to the harmony of birds cherping outside my bedroom window and thought what a beautiful sound. They were singing to comfort my pain.

What a beautiful Spring Season to celebrate my mother's life!  So let us rejoice!

My dearest mother,

I was once small, helpless and completely dependant on someone else and that someone else was you.

You showed me my first Rainbow, and you were there when I took my first steps.

You made me smile and laugh and you were there to hear my first words.

I feel wonderful when people say I resemble you, and it is so true, we have the same eyes, ears and nose. I will always be a part of you, because you created me.

You gave me many tender kisses and have taught me so much.

You shared with me your values: kindness, family, honesty, thoughtfulness, patience and to always do the right thing.

Mom, what I'm saying is - you taught me to be who I am today, and I am forever grateful to you.

You were the very foundation upon which my character was built.

I am blessed for you making me feel so warm and safe and loved.

You have given me everything I needed to grow up and fulfill my potential.

And, you always knew the right words to say to make me feel better.

You mended many broken hearts and gave many hugs.

You encouraged me to be the best I could be and always be myself. And, you were always right beside me encouraging me with my dreams.

This is a celebration of you mom.

I'm so sorry that you never knew your real mother. How awful it must have been for you those early years of your life!  I'm sorry you missed out on such a wonderful experience as you have provided to me.

But, how wonderful you met Dad and the two of you began a life together and created our family with Billy and I; then marriage to Jeff and Bill to Cheryl and their daughter - your dearest granddaughter, Kristen.

You always longed for family and you know what they say! "Watch for what you pray for, and look out for what you get." You got Bob, Billy and I.

I would never change a thing mom. We had great and wonderful times.

Let me close mom by telling you how much I will miss you. It will never be the same.

I kiss you a hundred times and I will paint love pictures to you.

I will go on even though my heart is heavy. I have asked much of you and you have never failed me.

But, now it's your time...to rest and have peace in your heart. It's OK to go - I told you so. You acknowledged me with a nod...so sleep my dearest mother.

I shall see you on the other side of the Raibow in heaven - You now have eternal life.

"Mom, There's no place like home."

Your loving daughter,

~Andrea

P.S. Mom, Thank you for helping me learn how to connect my letters when I was learning how to write. I'll never forget our talk in the bathroom while you were combing your hair and I was sitting on the tub telling you I just didn't know how I was going to ever learn how to connect those letters. I knew how to print but never did I ever think I could write. But you tenderly assured me that everything will work out and it eventually did.

P.S.S. Remember the "Wizard of OZ" movie and all the times we loved to watch it together? It was our favoite movie. I dedicate Rainbows to you. I sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" to you while you were in pain and played Judy Garland's classic "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" on a CD and placed the headset on your head for you to hear. I hope it made your passing more peacefully.

So many Rainbows to you mother.

P.S.S.S. I received a beautiful Rainbow crystal bracelett today from Katrina. I wish you could see it! There's red, yellow, purple, green, orange and your favorite color blue. It sparkles and glistens like your eyes. I shall treasure it always.

Sleep in peace mother - I shall see you again.
