Janet Bettis...Somewhere Over The Rainbow

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Janet Lou Bettis who was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on December 17, 1927 and passed away in Zephyrhills, Florida on April 9, 2010. A Service was held at 10:00 am in Howell, Michigan at Borek Jennings Funeral Home. The officiant was Rev. Jim Vander Schuur, the Interment at Lakeside Cemetery located in Marion Township, Michigan. A celebration of her life luncheon was held at the American Legion Devereaux Post 141 in Howell, Michigan with an Open House held at the residence of Dr. Jeffrey and Andrea (Bettis) Bruner. You will live forever in our memories and in our hearts!

Janet had several passions that some of you may not have known about. Her drawings, antiques, and writings! She love to journal and she was always looking to pick up more antiques...just ask Bob, he was surrounded by them. One of the things she loved to do was collect antique purses.

Every Christmas she would give Andrea and Kristen a purse to add to their collection. Always put a penny in them with a little something to say. Now, of course, these mean a great deal to them and they will cherished forever!

Here are a few of her writings... Peace and Blessings

Peace
The wind breezes move gently thru the trees. Wind chimes plays music as I listen to every sound. I gaze upon the meadows with the fragrance of green grass. Wildflowers dancing to and fro. Clouds like cotton candy and the sky is so blue. So still and quiet. It’s Gods World full of Peace. If we would only take the time to see and listen. To Gods Words of Peace.

Blessings
Blessings are a gift from God, we are all special in His eyes. Our Blessings may not be all the same, blessings come to each of us at different times and ways. We are blessed with a touch of His loving hand, when conflict and challenges face us each day. It is He that will always give us strength to walk down our winding roads. I remember during the war, it was God that provided us with food to eat when money was scarce. I am blessed to have a home and a bed to rest my head, with food to nourish me and clothes to keep me warm. It isn’t the material things that really count in life, it’s the love of family and friends to share and hold when we have problems to bare. Blessing are everywhere if we only take the time to look and share.

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow
Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but used to be. Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand, in your hearts. I’ve only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you. I can live my life in the hearts of all of you. See you “Somewhere over the Rainbow”

God's Rainbow
The falling rain dissolves into mist and the thunder begins to die, As the sporadic lightning fades an arch of color pours from the sky. Rainbows appear after mighty storms when things look their worst. Just when the sky is darkest gray, out of Heaven does a rainbow burst. God first sent the rainbow to Noah as a sign that His word is true. The rainbow's eternal message still speaks to me and you. The rainbow is a sign of God's promise that He will guide us through any storm, that He will ease all our troubles, no matter what their form. When you feel battered by life's storms and you are filled with dobt and dismayed, just remember God's rainbow is coming, for it's only Blessing You Have to Pray
